WOODS DOG is a story (a short book, really) about my dog, Ranger, and the segment of time we shared together. The book is free and is available on this website. Go to the Woods Dog tab and click "Download Woods Dog." You can also send WOODS DOG to a friend by clicking on "Share Woods Dog." This website, then, is a place for readers of WOODS DOG to communicate with me and even each other. In the book, I say, "Pet ownership is not a casual event." All pet owners know this. Our times with our pets are filled with adventure, humor, saddness, accidents, frustration, fun, and all sorts of unique situations. In WOODS DOG, I share stories on each of these topics and more. This website is your place to tell us all about your pet stories, share your pet photos, and read about each other's "segments of time we share with our pets". My goal for this site...
My goal for this site is for it to be useful to dog lovers (and pet lovers in general) and for it to be an almost therapeutic "hang out" where you can share your stories. As you read the book WOODS DOG, you will likely be reminded of events and incidents that you shared with your own pet. Look at the main tabs across the top of the site. At most of the tabs, you can read excerpts from WOODS DOG which will help you understand the concept of each tab topic. After reading the excerpt, get involved by sharing your stories and pictures of your pet. "Training Tips" would be a good place for you to share training ideas or strategies that have worked well with your pet. "Part of the Package" refers to the many messes and accidents that our pets cause - I can't wait to hear your tales. "List of Lasts" is a place to consider the concept of time and how it affects our pets (and each of us). "Dealing with Loss" can be a place to let it all out and publicize your internal feelings. It can be a place to be in pain, to be sad, and to begin healing. "Thoughts from Readers" can be used by anyone who has read WOODS DOG and has a desire to make a comment or expand on a presented idea. I hope you will all become readers and share your thoughts with us.
This site is also a place to get "behind the scenes." If you read WOODS DOG, you are already somewhat familiar with Brian and Tara. They have both agreed to be featured writers here at www.woodsdog.us and provide sneak peaks into thier own WOODS DOG experiences with Ranger, Linck, Timber, and Digger! Find thier blogs under the Woods Dog tab and uncover the treasure of thier perspectives. |
